Software Design is a consulting organization offering
software design and expert witness services. Mr. Berg, President of Berg Software
Design, has extensive experience with storage devices and interfaces, including SCSI, USB, Flash Memory, Fibre Channel, IDE/ATA/ATAPI, Storage Area Networks and optical storage. He has been a project leader, software developer, industry analyst, technical marketer and
writer, as well as conference chair, session chair and speaker. Mr.
Berg is experienced with device drivers, embedded firmware and real-time systems under Windows, UNIX, and various real-time operating systems. He has designed and implemented storage subsystems and performed marketing studies.
Mr. Berg has reviewed patents, investigated trade secret infringement allegations, and served as an expert witness.
Mr. Berg has led seminars on the use of SCSI and optical storage
devices. He has designed and implemented both initiator and target SCSI software systems,
including defining special SCSI commands and using ASPI. Device types with which he
has worked include optical, disk, tape, jukebox,
RAID, printer and scanner.
